The Evidence
- 80% of all learning in a child’s first 12 years comes through vision
- Vision impairment is strongly linked to anxiety and depression among children
- Students who received glasses made gains in attendance and academic performance equivalent to an additional 2-4 months of learning time

- Clayton County Public Schools: 6,500
- Cobb County School District: 6,000
- DeKalb County Public Schools: 10,000
- Fulton County Schools: 5,000
- Gwinnett County Public Schools: 14,000

*These numbers represent the need in schools that serve at least 60% children who are eligible for free and reduced price lunch.
How it Works

Vision Screening
Student receives a quick vision scan to determine whether a doctor exam is required.
Historical failure rate: 35%

Eye Exam
Students who fail the screening are examined by an optometrist on a mobile clinic.
90% of children are prescribed glasses

A few weeks later: Glasses
Students select frames from a wide choice styles and receive glasses.
Lost or broken glasses are replaced for free for one year
